Why AI-native EDA

Schematic files are text. Design-rule checks are scripts. Datasheets are documents. Electronic design automation was always shaped like a problem an agent could work on — the tools just never assumed one was driving.

The shift

Traditional EDA optimizes for a human at a mouse. Gordian optimizes for an agent at a terminal:

1. Everything inspectable as text, everything diffable in git.
2. Checks that run automatically and feed back into the next edit.
3. A human reviewing outcomes, not placing every footprint.

The result isn't a copilot bolted onto a GUI — it's a tool built around the loop the agent actually runs.
